Floating Hope

In ancient Egyptian mythology Isis mourned her beloved husband Osiris who was treacherously murdered by his brother Seth. Her weeping tears flooded the sacred land, bringing fecundity to the Nile Valley. Every living thing was then created: rain, clouds, and plant life. Her bursting tears transformed evil, turning death into life and darkness into light. Since then the Nile has been the lifestream of Egypt.

The artist recalls the legend of Isis at this time of uncertainty in a world shaded with confusion and distress due to epidemics and wars. She re-creates a new world of transformation and rebirth, recalling the wisdom of the past with a contemporary approach. Stemming from the current crises affecting humanity and the planet, it is an attempt to reach the light, trying to find our priorities and re-discover our truth. It is a Floating Hope. Floating in place with its transparent and light material, it allows us to interact with space and time. Its sculpted forms are inspired from nature and universal landscapes. As lights penetrate its translucent material, it changes with day and night. The floating installation represents a visual and audio experience reflecting movement and stillness.
